So my spiritual birthday is tomorrow! Even though I’ve always been saved, it’s been seven years ago (July 7, 2009) I gave my life to Christ and got baptized. I’m super excited about this one because 7 is the number of completion. I feel like the 1st 7 years of my spiritual life have been the foundation of who I am in Christ. I truly feel complete as far as understanding the basics of the Christian life and how to proceed with FIRE! It may not mean anything to many, but to me this is BIG so I wanted to share 10 things Ive learned since being saved. Feel free to leave all questions/comments below!
1.Bring a Christian is FUN! I promise you God is not boring. I’ve done it all from getting my Masters, writing books, hosting bible studies, meeting my biological parents, and traveling the world. And it’s only the beginning.
2.Alone time with God is important! I’ve accepted the fact that I’m an introvert, but I really get the most out of my alone time when its spent with God. #Jesusismyhomeboy
3.You don’t have to be a biblical scholar to spread the gospel. I used to think I had to know everything in the bible to share the good news! That’s far from the truth. God wants to use YOU to tell others eternity is secure in him if you believe!
4.You will make mistakes, but you gotta bounce back. God’s grace is everything I promise.
5.Everyone won’t understand your walk..and that’s okay! I have honestly been alone for the most part in the last few years in terms of the Christian connection. Some people have stopped dealing with me and I now have limited contact with people who are actually close to me simply because we don’t do the same things anymore. Life is still good. Pray for them and get excited for what God is going to do through them.
6.You are new so you will act new..embrace it. Don’t be scared to be that Christian who doesn’t want to turn up and gossip. Run your race!
7.God will show you, YOU! I never knew there were such ugly parts of me. Thank God he doesn’t run and tell my business but deals with me and sets me on a straight path.
8.Each year I have grown more than I realized. Look at the old you and compare it to the new you. You will be amazed.
9.Tests and trials are real..but so is God. He’s your help!
10.Go after who or whatever God has you placed on your heart. I’ve noticed lately God has me in the unlikely company of some broken people and I love it. I will not ignore those who are having extreme struggles such as drug addicts or women in sexual bondage. The saved know better. Put me on the front line with those who need God the most.
All in all, play time is over! It’s time to get serious and go off! I’m thankful for 7 years of the Lord being in my life. Make sure you get to that space. God is waiting on You!
Love,
Kylie
