This weekend I went on a mini road trip. I picked up my rental and everything was fine until I got about an hour away. I looked at the dashboard and a light came on. It wasn’t a check engine light or the light to check oil; it said maintenance required. I thought to myself what could this mean? I did not panic though because it couldn’t have been anything that would prevent me from taking my trip. If it wasn’t the engine or oil as far as I was concerned I didn’t have to worry. It just needed a little maintenance.
God spoke to me (as usual) and made me realize some of us just need maintenance done in our lives. We hold back from God because we think our life (engine) is beyond repair. We feel as if we are low on energy and faith (oil). The reality is, we just need a little maintenance. We may need a few more hours of sleep. We may lack an extra hour with God. Some of us lack focus on God’s word, but it’s not the end of the world. Maintenance isn’t anything that should keep us from God. If fact, it should draw us closer. If your car needs maintenance would you ignore it or take it to a shop to get fixed? The same thing applies to us. This week I challenge you to be thankful you understand it’s not a new car you need, it’s simply a little maintenance.
I pray you have a blessed week. Send all questions comments, and concerns to kyliestores@yahoo.com.
