Today I went to Panera after church. Because I'm a nurse we serve two Sundays out of the month at church and act as a stand-in nurse in case something happens. I wear a white lab jacket with our church name on it and white scrubs. When I got to Panera, I place my order and the girl taking my order not only read it back to me really snappy, she cut me off as I repeated my order. I felt my flesh try to rise up and get an attitude, but I remembered not only did I just come from church, I have my churches name on my lab jacket. No sooner than me thinking that, she said “oh I just came from that church”. I wanted to say you sure aint acting like it, but I smiled and asked her did she enjoy herself.
By her being nasty, did I think she had just come from MY church? NO! I thought she was irritated and annoyed. She could have sparked beautiful conversation about the service we had today but that was over when she got an attitude. I wasn’t any better though. I almost got snappy right back at her and I would have missed an opportunity to share the church I love so much. We both could have ruined our witness.
You do not know who is watching you or who knows who. You also don’t know when someone is getting ready to approach you about the word, so you must be on alert at all times. I know sometimes you want to go off and I know sometimes you don’t feel like being bothered, but you have to be Godly especially in the presence of a non believer. How will a person see the church if all they remember is you getting smart and being rude? Do you think that is how we win believers? I think we need to start checking out attitudes before we skip someone that may have needed a good word. I have my days when I'm not feeling myself but I have to start looking at the bigger picture. I'm here to win souls for the kingdom; not drive them away with my misconduct. Think about how you can make some changes to your attitude this week. A strangers life may depend on it.
Thank you sooo much for reading this blog and I'm soo happy to announce this Friday is the 1st birthday of my book God Set Me Up. I've sold many many many copies all around the world, and I plan to continue to write more books and sell this one. I would appreciate it if you purchased my book this week just as a love offering. If you don’t have it that’s fine, but I would greatly appreciate it. My book is my testimony, my life, and my truth, and I want to help you by sharing that. Pray about it and give what God places on your heart. I pray you have a blessed week and feel free to send al request and concerns to kyliestores@yahoo.com.
