New growth. What does new growth mean to you? As a disclaimer, God reveals things to me in the craziest ways so hang on. I took out my hair the other day (from 4 months of twist yuck) and I saw how much my hair grew. I look in the mirror and said “wow girl you have a lot of new growth. My hair had grown so much.
At the same time, this guy I used to talk to years go called me (Ive had the same number since 7th grade..I’m 24 in my first year of grad school pray I lean on the spirit of letting go) and he wanted to see how I was doing and asked could we hang out. I said “God why is he still lingering in my life?” I couldn't figure out why he was still popping up here and there. I knew every time he called I was going to answer, but I honestly didn't think he would still keep calling because our conversations ended up going nowhere. I thought to myself, maybe I should stop answering. It’s nothing mean and I don’t have anything against him, it’s just that time.
“New Growth”
I heard God loud as day. He spoke to my heart informing me that times change and sometimes you have to elevate yourself. New seasons, new changes, new months, NEW GROWTH. There comes a time when you have to stop going back to the same things you are used to dealing with. Stepping out and doing things differently may feel strange, but it’s about becoming a new person. My rule to myself is, even if things don’t end badly be it relationship, season, or habit, if it did not elevate me or make me better, it is time for me to try something new. There is no need to stay stuck doing nothing. You may find that the thing was not hindering you, but sometimes things that don’t elevate us are even worse! It’s time for me to tread in different waters and see what else is out there for me in ALL areas of my life.
I encourage you to take on the same attitude and do the same. Get your new growth situation for you and understand God has his best for you out there. Growth is scary and often different than what we are used to, but it’s so needed and I don’t know about you but I'm ready to take that leap!
Have a blessed week and a good rest of the day. Its nurses week so I'm excited it being my first one. Happy Nurses week to any other nurses out there!
