I hope you are having a good day and plan on having a good week. As I sat to think about what to blog about, I realized it much easier to let life flow in and it’s better if I continue to use my experiences to reach to you all. God speaks to me in MANY ways; but nothing like a personal experience.
Last Wednesday I was on my way to sleep because I had to wake up at 5am to go to work the next morning. I was in bed nice and relaxed and I had an overall good day so it was about to be a really good sleep for me. As I was sleeping, I felt my scarf coming off. Now fellas, you may not understand it and you probably don’t care, but when a woman’s scarf comes off in the middle of the night, it’s a BIG deal.
It was at least 2am when it began to come off. Instantly, I began to rebuke the devil. I mean like legit in my sleep saying “leave me alone I'm trying to sleep; you know I have work tomorrow”! The issue for me was the fact that I knew if I woke up to adjust my scarf, I would be up for the next few hours AKA my sleep would be ruined, I would not be able to get back to sleep at all, and I would be a hot mess for work.
I woke up laughing because I really had to pray the devil away all over a scarf, BUT I also realized that was a very real circumstance that taught me something. I learned that no matter how much I prepared for my good night’s sleep, I was still open to attack. I realized that the devil will creep up on me at any time of day OR night, and I need to be ready for whatever whenever!
You may think Kylie it’s just a scarf falling off fix it and move on, but for me it was so much more. I see that the devil will use things like “just a scarf” to throw me off mentally, physically, and spiritually, and if I'm not prepared or ready to pray him up off me, I can be finished and flustered in an instance.
This week, I challenge you to stay on alert. They devil doesn’t always cause our down falls, sometimes its God using trials to test us, but either way you need to have the Holy Spirit that dwells in you ready to pray it away, scream it away and simply say NOT TODAY! God gave us the Holy Spirit to be there whenever we call so I challenge you to muster up a shout and keep your peace no matter if its 2am or 2pm; it CAN be done!
