Yesterday I went to dinner with my cousin. We had a real crazy conversation about life in general but it got real when we began to talk about GOD. She went on to tell me she did not believe in Jesus and she asked me a series of questions for me to “prove” there was a Jesus. I never had anyone really debate with me on weather Jesus was real or not. Being as though it is the season of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, I was READY!
I simply told her I believe because I believe. My faith tells me he’s real. My bible tells me he’s real. My heart tells me he’s real. I could not imagine a life believing in God but not Jesus. Matthew 11:27 says “No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to him the Son chooses to reveal him. (NIV). I don’t believe one can believe in God without believing him his son Jesus.
As I was taking a break from school work today, it hit me. I had to ask God “why did you reveal yourself to me? How do I know you? Why did you choose me to understand who you were when so many people DON’T know you?” I don’t think God doesn’t want others to know him. I know he wants everyone to believe but that is not the case. There are millions of unbelievers. That’s when he put me on assignment...again. I have always run from the call to share Jesus in personal ways. I talk about him on social media, through my book, and presentations but when I'm one on one with a friend or family member, I confess sometimes I neglect to offer the gift of salvation and simply talk about who Jesus is. So many people don’t know Jesus and it is my duty to explain who he is.
I was confused when my cousin explained that she doesn’t believe but God made it a point to tell me “now it’s your time to tell her and everyone else just who I am”. Matthew 28: 19-20 says “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, top the very end of age”. It’s pretty simple. If your family, friends, co-workers don’t know Jesus, it’s your command from God to tell them!
So no more sitting back and letting your “friends” do whatever; speak up and let them know. If you know him don’t keep that to yourself, share that good news!
I am sorry I did not post Sunday, I worked all weekend and I was beat. Keep my in your prayers that God gives me the strength to write weekly.
