Straight Outta Witness

God talks to us every single day in every single way I cannot stress this enough. This blog is coming to me so fast I don’t think I have fingers fast enough to type, but I will get through. First, thank you to all my weekly readers who got on me about not having a blog last week. I was sick, but now I'm back in action and I am ready to roll. Prayfully I will never miss a week again. Let’s get into today’s content.

My sister friend Shontae and I went to see Straight Outta Compton today. We went to church and dinner because it was her birthday, then all of a sudden thought, let’s just go see this movie. I was so excited. I thought to myself I know this is a lot of vulgar for a Sunday God, but I think there’s a message I need to get out. Keep in mind even through this rough week I've had, I still didn’t know what to write about. We seen the movie and stayed a half hour later relating Christianity to the movie. Crazy hunh? We were Straight Outta Compton, and Straight into the Word!

She said “so do you think Dr. Dre or his mother sent his brother to hell if they didn’t tell him about Jesus before he died?” This lit my soul on fire. We agreed that if you share the good news of salvation, you’re covered and it’s no longer on you. If you scale back though and don’t share God, then YOU become responsible for that persons salvation because you know better. She said “well what do you think about people who never heard of Jesus at all; does God accept them since they were never given the chance to hear the good news?” She proceeded to ask “do you think God gives everyone in one way shape or form the chance to hear about salvation?” I admit the last two questions I struggled with. I mean, are there some people out there that have NEVER heard about Jesus, and if so does God hold that against them?

The bigger story I got out of the whole conversation was AM I DOING MY PART? How many times did I miss the chance to witness? How many times did I scale back form telling a stranger about God? How many times have I even shared the gospel? This made me really reexamine myself. I consider myself a people person but I tend to stay to myself a lot as well. I think about all the people I come into contact daily and I can’t help but to ask myself, am I doing enough? God has us here to grow his kingdom. If you want your party to be the best end of the summer party will you tell five friends and wish for a miracle? NO! You would post on IG every 10 minutes, call local radio shows, beg for shout-outs, and hang flyers. God expects the same conduct from us about his heavenly party. We need to get VOCAL.

I wonder how many people Eazy E touched by sharing the fact that he had AIDS. How many people changed their ways based on seeing what he endured? The same applies to our witness. How many people can we touch and change if we speak up about our mess and how God saved us. How many people will be in heaven because we shared salvation? Its something to think about and this week I want to challenge you to share Jesus with two people; one you know who you know doesn’t know Christ and one complete stranger. If you have an IG just post a picture of a cross with the hashtag #straightouttawitness. I think we can change the world with one voice after another simply speaking on Christ. Let me know how it goes!

We talked about so much more but I was simply excited to see how God took a movie and turned it into a message. Keep your heart open to all of him; he’s all around us and once we see him, we can really turn our witness all the way up!

I pray you have a bless week and don’t forget to get your #straightouttawitness on! If you have any questions comments concerns feel free to contact me at kyliestores@yahoo.com.
