One day you’re up, the next you’re down. One day you feel like you’re winning, the next you feel like the world is against you. I spoke about emotions in previous blogs and how they affect us. I even talked about how I noticed that sometimes I let my emotions get the best of me. If you can revert back to a memory and instantly get upset, those are areas of unchecked emotions. If a certain place or person “takes you there” that’s an area of unchecked emotions. Last week was very positive for me yet there were moments when I felt it was hitting the fan. Life got me down and I couldn’t take it. I realized more often than none these things will happen but it’s up to me to make the decision to get emotional or give it to God.
I was so upset about the entire process of finding my birth parents. It annoyed me to know this process can take a very long time. I cried and cried because if they would have been responsible in the first place we wouldn’t be in this position now. It annoyed me so bad and I simply broke down. I heard the sermons, read the blogs, and understood what it looked like to face a battle. Sound familiar? It was hitting the fan for me and I had the choice to continue to cry or say God have your way. I cried, and then I got it together. I don’t think God wants us to be emotionless. I think he wants our honest hearts. But once we get the tools needed we can’t walk around in misery all day. We can’t feel sorry for ourselves, we have to get up and be happy. Make the change or pray like never before concerning whatever is bothering us. I got even worse news concerning the process, but what did I do. I didn’t cry out, I looked up. I didn’t trip I asked God to work it out. Overtime it’s not up to God to take it away, it’s up to us to surrender to his will and realize it’s working out for us. We have to stop letting our emotions get the best of us and learn to fight. Learn to lean on God like never before. There is no more room for small faith. Trust that God is about to make big things happen for you; even if the outlook isn’t looking to good.
I encourage you to look at any situation in your life that you face this week. Before you go off, smile look to God and see how he’s working it out for you. Don’t let petty things get you down, muster up that fight and let loose. God can and will help you but it’s up to you to help yourself. You know better now. You have seen what he has done before. Let your faith take over and let him lead you to a place where no matter what happens, you know he has your back.
I love you and thank you for reading. I pray your week is good and you have a good Sunday.
